THE LAST KNOCK presents: Unsane

THE LAST KNOCK horror podcast on Unsane
THE LAST KNOCK opens the door to Unsane

Is Unsane Really a Trip?

Unsane, the latest independent film from renowned director, Steven Soderbergh, hit theaters to explore the sanity – or insanity – of a woman trapped within the walls of an asylum.

Other than the novelty that the film was shot on an iPhone (see Sean Baker’s amazing drama/comedy, Tangerine), THE LAST KNOCK psychoanalyzes the cinematography, acting, editing, and narrative, among other elements.

Horror fans may appreciate Unsane because The Blair Witch Project alum, Joshua Leonard has a major role in his biggest film to date, and Claire Foy, who has often flirted with horror in a more comedic sense, ventures deep into psychological territory. And don’t forget Juno Temple!

Is this film closer to the wild film Tattoo, the beloved Repulsion, or even David Lynch’s bizarro Inland Empire – or did it break new ground? Billy and Jonny have the answers.

Most vital for your horror survival, is Unsane worth the price of a ticket? Your hosts duke it out over that one, and both may end up in psych wards. Avoid such a fate by listening to this episode before visiting your local asylum – because you may never leave…
