Spring and its Song of Horror
There’s been a ton of buzz about Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s horror/romance Spring. But is it worth a watch, or just disposable mind candy?
Writing, directing, and much more filmmaking of duo of Benson and Moorehead got heads turning with Resolution.
Now, the pair travels to another part of the world to bring you a boy meets girl story that once again defies the conventions of both horror and romance.
Spring stars Lou Taylor Pucci as Evan, a young American trying to get his life back together in Italy, when he meets Louise, a woman with an edge – and secrets of her own – played by the scintillating Nadia Hillker.
Benson and Moorehead even avoid presenting Italy in an overwrought manner. Don’t expect to see the Coliseum, the leaning tower of Pisa, or any other familiar postcard sites. The filmmakers do what one would expect with a film called Spring: They keep it fresh, new, and different.
So it’s time to take a new kind of horror trip to Italy and enjoy a unique kind of splendor. And when you can, let THE LAST KNOCK know of your rites of Spring…
