Kevin Sluder and his wife, Jennifer are the souls behind Sunshine Boy Productions. And no, they don’t make cheesy, tepid films. But if you’re into horror, thrillers, noir, science fiction, and drama with backbone, this is the team for you.
The pair discuss their how that met at the University of North Carolina, and how, over time, Team Sluder created their production company.
Besides looking back at their early short films, including the fantastic, Play Violet for Me, we’ll explore their current ventures: the drama Family from actress/writer/director, Elaine Loh, and the horror, Heartless. The latter is a modern take on Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart, which is currently finding great success on the film festival circuit.
As with most independent filmmakers, it’s about creating something worthwhile – something based on quality storytelling – for fans of the respective genres. And after making or producing short films, Kevin and Jennifer Sluder have a feature horror in mind.
