The new Halloween installment broke records in its first couple of weekends at the box office. Yes, it’s been forty years since John Carpenter’s foray into the franchise began in 1978. Back then, Michael Myers wowed audiences as “The Shape” – thanks to his William Shatner mask – and with a great night time atmosphere and what is now an iconic theme, the movie garnered a solid bloody spot in horror fandom. But what about the latest venture?

David Gordon Green’s Halloween brings scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis (“The Body”) back to battle Michael Myers as if the other movies in the franchise had never taken place. But does this movie live up to all the hype?
