Diminishing Returns: Horror that Ultimately Fails

When it comes to any film, as we age, that movie we once loved may not hold up. Diminishing returns in horror is a cruel realty that may leave us empty. How can we love something only to have it fail us?

As always, whenever we watch a horror, we bring our life experiences to the film before us. Sometimes that watch years or even decades later can lead to diminishing returns.

Love to Hate

It can’t be helped by any means. A horror film’s story simply may not hold up over time. What’s worse, as we grow and learn and become exposed to new stimuli – we may realize that a film never had a decent story to begin with.

We’ll look at eight films that have failed us over time. Movies where the plot or action or even the dialogue falls flat. Because diminishing returns is unavoidable and cannot be denied.

What are those films that have lost their luster in your life? Care to share those films where the love has gone?
