Cults R Us
Horror cinema is no stranger to cults in horror, and we’ve seen them from early films to the present.
Even if a cult isn’t the center of a horror film, it does exist and should leave us feeling uncomfortable.
After all, cults are usually strange and different, and may support something that doesn’t fall in line with the rest of humanity. Therefore, they become the “other” – and must either become acclimated or destroyed.
But What About the Good Cults?
Is there such a thing as a “good” cult?
Well, The Last Knock will explore that one. Even so, most cults are led by some charismatic messiah (of sorts) on a mission. And besides even a cult of personality may manifest itself.
Regardless, Billy and Jonny take a look at many horror films with cults, from Night of the Demon to John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, and from House of the Devil to End of the Line.
