THE LAST KNOCK presents: Franchise of Fear: Cloverfield

THE LAST KNOCK horror podcast on the Cloverfield franchise...
THE LAST KNOCK opens the door to the Cloverfield franchise…

Cloverfield Franchise

For Cloverfield fans, the latest horror in the franchise, The Cloverfield Paradox has been a surprise. Suddenly, we’re off our little blue ball, stuck in the vacuum of space, and trying to save Earth as it peters out due to a lack of energy resources – right out of David Bowie’s “Five Years” from his The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album.

This is a far cry from where Matt Reeves’ Cloverfield began in 2008 with Lizzy Caplan, T. J. Miller and company trying to survive in Manhattan because “Some Thing has Found Us.” And in 2016, John Goodman rocked the screen in the claustrophobic and intimate 10 Cloverfield Lane from director Greg Trachtenberg.

Drew Goddard, who wrote the original creature feature, brought a new and more frightening take on a monster movie and found footage film, while the sequel kept us wondering about what the hell was really going on. But what does The Cloverfield Paradox bring horror fans? Apparently, a lot of pain and angst.

THE LAST KNOCK will gaze deep into the Cloverfield multi-verse and try to figure out what works, what doesn’t, and where this crazy thing may be going.
