The Last Knock horror podcast opens the door to Blockbuster Horror…

Blockbuster Horror: Does Hollywood Do the Genre Justice?

We take a look at blockbuster horror films. That means those high-budget horror films that come out of Hollywood.

What’s high budget? Most horror films fall into the $4 million or less category, which is low-budget for Tinsel Town. And for the record, those super-independent films, like Paranormal Activity, fall into the micro-budget realm.

So Us the Money!

But are high-budget horror films, like the nearly $200 million Van Helsing worth the price of admission? Numb and Crash will take a look at the top 20 most expensive horror movie productions. We’ll look at everything from World War Z and Signs to The Haunting of Hill House and Event Horizon.

Most important, we’ll look at story and theme, and see if blockbuster horror films really care about the fans that make the genre thrive.

The Last Knock always supports independent cinema!

Note: What’s up with the one-man shows as of late? Never fear, Jonny Numb and Billy Crash are still The Last Knock duo! But due to work demands, COVID-19 vaccine recovery, jury duty (both at the same time!), and individual writing projects, time has been demanding. The pair will get on the same wavelength soon enough!

(Sleepy Hollow movie still shot from Paramount Pictures.)
