Bliss: Stuck in the Middle with Goo
Joe Begos’ 2019 nihilistic film Bliss has lovers and haters – just like Billy and Jonny.
Crash loves it, Numb hates it.
Let the battle for the hearts and minds of Bliss watchers commence…
The Bloody Heart of it All
Dora Madison gave all of herself as Dezzy in Bliss but that doesn’t necessarily mean horror fans will love the character. But do we have to love the lead at all?
When it comes to loving or hating a film – or falling somewhere in between – many factors come into play. From story and cinematography, to performances and set design, as well as music and editing, a film is a unification of sound and vision.
So why do we see things differently?
Yes, Crash and Numb fight over the quality of Bliss, yet coming to a conclusion about one’s merits for loving or hating a piece of art (is the movie art?) is a hard thing to answer.
But your friends at The Last Knock do their damnedest to try and figure it all out.
However, that may be like trying to argue what came before The Big Bang, removing any chance of Bliss from the conversation…
